What AakarX does
Is AakarX accounting software?
It is the finance system for running projects: estimates, invoices, vendor and contractor bills, payments, site expenses, party ledgers and project profit. It keeps GST and TDS registers your CA can download. It does not file returns for you.
How is it different from a spreadsheet or Tally?
Tally is where your CA closes the books. AakarX is where the money is captured as it happens: on site, per project, per party. Every bill and payment is tied to a project and a cost head, so profit per project and who-owes-whom are always current.
Does it do design, 3D or scheduling?
No. AakarX is only about money. Keep using your design and planning tools.
Does it work for project management consultants?
Yes. Record contractor bills against the project budget, deduct TDS as you pay, and raise your own fee invoices by stage from the billing plan.

How do billing milestones work?
When a client accepts an estimate, you split the contract into milestones such as booking advance, design sign-off, material delivery and handover. When a milestone is due, it appears on your overview until you raise the invoice.
Are invoices GST compliant?
Invoices carry your GSTIN, the client’s GSTIN if they have one, SAC codes, place of supply, and CGST and SGST or IGST worked out from the two states. They download as PDF with the amount in words.
Can I remind clients to pay?
Yes. From an invoice or a client’s ledger, one tap opens WhatsApp with a reminder that includes the amount due and your UPI ID.

How does TDS on contractors work?
When you pay a contractor, AakarX checks the payment against the section 194C limits (₹30,000 per payment or ₹1,00,000 in the year) and suggests 1% or 2% based on their PAN. The TDS register lists every deduction with the deductee’s PAN.
Can site supervisors record expenses?
Yes. They join with your code and record expenses, bills and payments with a photo, from their phone, only on projects you assign. They cannot see invoices or what clients have paid, and cannot delete anything.
Can I change the cost heads?
Yes. You start with standard heads such as civil, carpentry, electrical and plumbing. Add your own or hide ones you don’t use in Settings.

What does it cost?

Where is my data stored, and who can see it?
Data is stored in Postgres with row-level security, so every query is limited to your organization and your role. Bill photos are in private storage and open through short-lived links.
Can I take my data out?
Yes. Reports download as CSV: every transaction, the sales and purchase registers and the TDS register.
I already have running projects. How do I start?
Add each project with its contract value, and enter what each client and vendor owes today as an opening balance. You are current from day one.
